Do You Take My Insurance?
Goalbound PT and Performance is classified as an 'Out of Network Provider' and follows a cash-based approach to treatment. This means we do not participate in insurance plans, enabling us to offer every patient the utmost quality of individualized treatment and attention they rightly deserve. Our focus is on treating each person as a unique individual, taking a holistic approach, free from insurance constraints that might dictate treatment duration or intensity.
Do I Need A Referral Or Prescription From My Doctor To Work With You?
No. Maine is a Direct Access State which means that you can be evaluated and treated directly by a physical therapist without physician referral. This streamlined process not only saves you time but also eliminates the need for unnecessary imaging and other expensive procedures.
What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?
We accept HSA/FSA, cash, credit and Venmo.
What Should I Wear To My First Appointment?

We suggest wearing loose-fitting, breathable clothing that allows for easy movement. Athletic clothing like shorts, sweatpants, or leggings and a t-shirt or tank-top are suitable options.

If you're seeking treatment for a specific injury or condition, try to wear clothing that allows easy access to the affected area. For example, if you have a knee issue, wearing shorts or loose pants that can be rolled up is advisable.

What Should I Expect On My First Visit?
Your initial assessment includes a thorough one-on-one evaluation and movement analysis conducted by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, lasting approximately 60 minutes. During this visit, we will delve into your medical history and discuss your goals for treatment. Our focus will be on addressing your immediate pain through hands-on techniques, education, and guidance on modifying your activities as needed. By the end of your first session, you will have a well-defined plan to help you return to the activities that you love.
How Many Appointments Will I Need?
The frequency of your visits will be discussed and decided in collaboration with your provider, taking your symptoms as well as your goals into consideration. Our cash-based treatment model grants us the flexibility to tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs and goals. Each treatment session will incorporate a blend of manual therapy, strengthening exercises, and guidance for managing your condition at home.

Dry Needling and Manual Therapy

Dry Needling is a safe and effective manual therapy procedure in which a thin needle is inserted into the skin to help alleviate pain and improve mobility.

Manual Therapy is our specialty! We use a variety of skilled hands on techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain at varying regions throughout the body. Some of these techniques include: joint mobilizations, spinal manipulation, cupping, and instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization.

Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR)

Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is a specialized exercise technique that involves using a tourniquet-like device or band on the upper arms or thighs during low-intensity resistance exercises. This method temporarily restricts the blood flow to the muscles you're working, creating a unique training stimulus. Despite using lighter weights, BFR training can help you build strength and muscle, improve endurance, and enhance your overall fitness. It's a safe and effective way to achieve great results with less strain on your joints and muscles.

Running Assessments

Our running assessments typically starts by conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the runner's biomechanics and running gait. Our physical therapist will also assess your flexibility, strength, and joint mobility to create a personalized rehabilitation or training plan to improve performance, address pain and prevent future running-related injuries.
